TELLING YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT SCENAR/FIRSTtx
Tell your doctor that you are receiving NINM (non-invasive neuromodulation) therapy. More than likely your doctor has not heard of SCENAR or FIRSTtx non-invasive neuromodulation therapy for pain. It's not that it is new. It has been successfully utilized for over 40 years in other countries and is just beginning to become more readily noticed in the US. Healthcare professionals are currently being educated and trained throughout the US.
SCENAR and FIRSTtx are both cleared by the FDA as class 2 medical devices. That means if you are not a licensed medical professional, you are required to have a doctors prescription to rent or buy a device for your personal use and only a licensed professional can treat you. You do not need a prescription to receive treatments (unless your therapy is being covered by insurance).
FIRSTtx is the newest generation of the NINM technologies and is just brilliant. It is safe and powerfully effective in so many ways. NINM devices are designed for both professional and home/personal use (same technology, easy to use).
So back to telling your doctor about SCENAR/FIRSTtx therapy. Simply said SCENAR and FIRSTtx are advanced forms of electro neurostimulation with biofeedback capability. It is NOT like a TENS device. See the difference NON-INVASIVE NEUROMODULATION. It is safe and easy to use. Your doctor needs to know that as your NINM treatments progress, if you are on medications your body may become more responsive to those drugs, making them more potent. Your doctor manages your medication therefore he/she needs to know you are receiving the NINM treatments as adjustments to your medication may need to be made.
